Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20230920-4C979-2147345099. Severity: No Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Frigidaire Model Number FCRG3052BS. Incident: My Frigidaire refrigerator started making a clicking sound this morning. Within 15 minutes, smoke stared pouring out from the bottom of it. I immediately pulled it away from the wall and unplugged it. While unplugged, I removed the drawers to see if maybe something spilled and perhaps dropped into the electrical parts. I didnt see anything obvious so plugged it back in to see if I could identify the problem. Almost immediately, orange flames were visible on the bottom left corner, within the tubing coming off of the compressor. Foul-smelling smoke began filling the room again. I immediately unplugged it and the fire/sparking stopped. Thankfully I was home!
