SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20230925-010C8-2147345039. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Navine RY43-0002 (Navine 43 inch propane gas fire pit table. Black in color. Model RY43-0002). Incident: I purchased a Navine 43 inch propane gas fire pit in 2022. It has a beautiful black glass table top. A couple of months ago we were inside when we heard an explosion. To our shock the glass table top exploded sending chards of glass in a 12 foot radius. Thank heavens no one or any of my pets were out there at the time. It could have injured or blinded a child and adult or a pet. I took pictures and sent it off to the company. They were quick to respond and offer a replacement. The replacement never made it here as it broke in transit. After careful consideration we decided it was too risky to use a replacement of which I am still waiting for. This is a very unsafe product and needs to be taken off the market. I've asked for a refund but they informed me it was past the warranty/ refund date. I wanted you to know this firepit was not used a lot. It was under the cover of our porch, out of any direct sunlight. The glass was never abused by setting anything down hard.
