Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20231009-0886A-2147344745. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Enviro Model M55 FPI (Enviro M55 cast multi-fuel Pellet stove insert). Incident: I have an Envro M55 pellet stove in my home and I received this email from my installer highlighting that my pellet stove should be considered unsafe. They tried to get the company to take ownership of the concern, but the company refused. Attached is the email I received from my installer: M55 Fire hazard Inbox [REDACTED] Attachments Oct 8, 2023, [REDACTED] PM (21 hours ago) to [REDACTED] Hello from Masters Chimney & Hearth! You are receiving this email because are records indicate you have an Enviro M55 pellet stove and we believe there could be a potential fire hazard. We have recently serviced some M55 pellet stoves and have noticed 4 units that had combustible pellet debris built up behind the unit. This was caused by the auger brass bushing wearing out and thereby creating space for pellets and/or dust to fall out behind the unit. All 4 were over 6 years old. To repair the unit, we will need to replace the auger brass bushing and maybe the metal housing it is attached to. Please see attached pictures. This email is being sent to everyone who purchased an Enviro M55 from our company, even if we have recently cleaned your unit or have set up an appointment to clean your pellet stove. I have notified the manufacturer, Enviro, of this problem. They only warranty the unit for 2 years and will not cover any of the replacement costs or labor. It is my opinion that this bushing should last over 10 years under normal use. Unfortunately, after going back and forth, they said "No" to this being a warranty claim. Therefore, the customer must pay the entire cost. As this does not
