Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20231013-64C6C-2147344665. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Frigidaire LFEF3054TF. Incident: On the afternoon of Wednesday 10/11/2023, the Frigidaire electric range we purchased from Lowe's in Richmond, Kentucky in April 2022 abruptly quit working and and "went dark" (i.e., control panel went out, burners and oven would not turn on) when I turned on a burner the stove top on to boil water for tea. When I went downstairs to the basement to check the electrical panel---where both breakers for the stove had flipped---I heard a tinkling sound upstairs that sounded like glass breaking. When I returned to the kitchen, I found that the outside glass panel to the oven door had shattered into hundreds of small sharp pieces which were scattered on the kitchen floor and inside the drawer under the electric range.
