Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20231111-C20B6-2147344073. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Product: Adam and eve Adam & Eve Magic Massager Deluxe 8x (Adam & Eve Magic Massager Deluxe 8x , it is a sex toy. A bigger plug in wand made by Adam and Eve it is red and white and offers 5 modes). Incident: About five years ago, I purchased an Adam & Eve Magic Massager Deluxe 8x about six months into owning it. It exploded in Sparks while in use . This was absolutely terrifying but I thought maybe it was just a defective product and I went and purchased a brand new one for $100 from the Romantix store. This product also offers a five-year warranty. This morning my husband and I went to use this product and plugged it in went to turn it on. It started sparking and made a loud pop noise. All of the electric in the house went out and the breaker box was unable to fix it. We had to call the electric company and have them come out [REDACTED] this product and came across multiple other occasions with the same instances with this product . I called Adam and Eve and was told that she has worked there 18 years and has never heard of this happening assuming that I was making it up because that product does not have enough voltage to shut off my electricity even though it did. I also found several reviews underneath this product on their website stating that other people experience this as well, along with electrocution and fire. This has been going on for years and this company has not fixed the problem. This is dangerous. This product needs to be recalled for the five-year warranty. They stated that I could pay to send it to them and they would send me a new one. I do not want a new one that will blow up as well and to waste more money.
