Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20231203-F8CA0-2147343680. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Ring Model: B08M125RNW, Name: Ring - Video Doorbell Pro. Incident: Ring Alarm Smoke and CO Listener device (https://ring.com/products/alarm-smoke-co-listener) reports low battery erroneously. Will report a low battery, and several hour later rectify itself. Reported very often ([REDACTED] and Ring community). Article of another source: [REDACTED] I have tested the device when the LOW BATTERY has been reported to the Ring Base by pressing the smoke alarm test button, and it sounding the 110db plus alarm inches away from the Ring "listener" and it failed to report the "fire"! I have conducted this test three times, with the same result. The device is within 20 feet of the base unit and pretty much unobstructed. Functions properly and reports a "fire" test when the battery is detected full capacity. Battery tests good. This has been two completely different sensors reporting (of three I own) this same issue (that many seem to have the same issue with ). Moving and sensor closer and replacing the battery did not solve the issue at all (as support requests be done. This is a fire safety device that fails to provide the safety and dependability that a fire safety device should. I have purchased a new base unit (with [REDACTED]) (previous base unit 1 year old ) and it reports the exact same issue as well.
