Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20231229-A5C29-2147343163. Matched catalog product: LG LTEL7337F. Incident: FIRE. While baking Christmas cookies with the grandkids and my brand new two week old, LG double oven, apparently someone brushed against the knob and turned it on which caused a fire with potholders on the stove. Top under the cookie sheets full of cookies we had smoke and fire everywhere had to evacuate the kids out of the house. It smelled so bad it burnt marks into my cooktop, we had to put air cleaners in the house before we could even come in and breathe it. It was so bad the knobs on the stove turn on way too easily. It does have a control lock option, but you can only use that if you are not using the oven or the stove top so its really scary. Some of LGs customer service was very helpful. Other was rather rude. I just think the knobs are dangerous and they could easily come up with a fix. I was actually suggested to put clear baby covers to keep children out of knobs over my brand new thousands of dollars stove that would be ugly and why should I have to do that for your design defect.
