Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20240127-F8EDB-2147341442. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Roku 4662X (Roku ultra lt 4k it is black 6x4x2). Incident: We were watching TV and our Roku ultra 4k device displayed an overheating warning. We had never seen this before so naturally I picked the device up and it was burning hot. The location it was sitting had developed a brownish tint as of it were starting to burn. I contacted Roku and explained the issue and was told contact us if it happens a second time. I stated this is the second time it has happened and would like a replacement. They informed me they could offer a discount if I purchased a new device and stated my warranty is expired which is not true. I explained a simple [REDACTED] search shows this to be a wide spread issue and they refuse to acknowledge it. I set a thermostat on top of the device and it registered 101.3 after unplugging it. The other thermostat sitting next to it showed air temperature around the device was 71.4.
