Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20240502-C8101-4716476. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: General Electric HL130544G (Washing Machine). Incident: The consumer indicates that he put a load of laundry in his washing machine. Approximately thirty to forty minutes he returned to check on the unit and noticed that it had exploded. The washer was off its stand and turned sideways with parts blown out and dangling off the unit. The consumer unplugged the washing machine and turned the water off. The consumer notes that the machine indicated that it was on its spin cycle, and that he did not hear the explosion as he was out on his yard. The consumer contacted the Manufacturer and explained the situation; the representative he spoke to scheduled for a service technician to inspect the unit on 05/03/2024. The consumer states that the unit is used three to four times per week. The consumer is unsure if he will keep his washing machine for at least the next thirty days in case an investigation ensues.
