SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20240521-7BAB6-2147339086. Severity: Injury, First Aid Received by Non-Medical Professional. Product: Delta SDGS060-CL-R (Model # SDGS060-CL-R Store SKU # 1000003640 - 29-3/4 in. x 67-3/4 in. x 1/4 in. (6mm) Frameless Sliding Shower Door Glass Panels in Clear.). Incident: I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction and concern regarding this recent incident On May, 12th 2024, the glass shattered unexpectedly everywhere, posing a significant safety hazard risk and causing inconvenience and distress. Model # SDGS060-CL-R Store SKU # 1000003640 - 29-3/4 in. x 67-3/4 in. x 1/4 in. (6mm) Frameless Sliding Shower Door Glass Panels in Clear. The glass on one of the doors spontaneously randomly exploded shattered all over the bathroom into numerous very sharp fragments, in the middle of the night What a nightmare...heard a loud EXPLOSION noise, this is was terrifying Listening to to the sound of explosion shattering glass. What is particularly disheartening is that this shower door glass was explicitly advertised and Sold by Delta as Tempered glass, implying its durability and safety by ANSI Z97.1 American National Standard for Safety Glazing Materials and by IAPMO IGC 154-2019 Shower and Tub/Shower Enclosures safety codes and American Standards, however, the fact that it shattered and exploded so dramatically and unexpectedly clearly indicates a severe discrepancy between the advertised quality of the product and its actual performance. This incident has not only caused inconvenience but also raised serious concerns about the reliability and safety of your products by the American safety Standards. As a customer, I expected transparency, honesty, and accountability from Delta company, none of which seem to have been upheld in this instance, they said 5 years warranty and don't want to honor it, they don't want to help cleaning up the shatter
