SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20240603-ECF1D-2147338848. Severity: Injury, Hospital Admission. Product: Crafteka UV Dip Resin, 100ml (The product is called UV Dip Resin. It is sold in a small cylindrical plastic jar, and is still available on Amazon. Here is the listing: https://a.co/d/5NxfG63). Incident: I purchased "UV Dip Resin" manufactured by Crafteka, a Romanian company, through Amazon at the end of November 2023. The product is still sold on Amazon's website, even after I have reported my experience listed below to them, and to Crafteka. On Amazon, this item is listed as "Non-toxic" and "MSDS Approved." On the label, it states "CAUTION! Children should be supervised. Use adequate ventilation. Use the resin only in open-space areas. If you use it for more than an hour, please wear a face mask. Gloves are recommended when using UV resin. Not to be taken internally." I used the item for less than one hour, only ever using it once. There are no "WARNING" labels on the product package or on the website. I requested the MSDS directly from Crafteka, and received it on 1/31/24. It states plainly that this chemical has acute respiratory toxicity, and should only be used while wearing a respirator. It also states that prolonged use demands a self-circulating respirator. These warnings were known to Crafteka, but were not published on the product or product listing through Amazon. Both companies are aware of my injury, yet they both continue to list the product for sale unchanged. I am furious, and still injured.
