Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20240612-A9457-2147338665. Severity: No Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Speed Queen ADE4BRGS177TW01. Incident: My brand new Speed Queen DC5003WE electric dryer ran for hours and heated up laundry room/smelled like smoke. This dryer could have burned my home down. Apparently this is a very common issue and the dials are flawed in design. The dials will break if you turn them counterclockwise, which allows the dryer to then run forever. The dial can turn both counterclockwise and clockwise to choose a dryer setting. There is no indication on the dryer to NOT turn the dial counterclockwise.
