Incident narrative
SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20240722-28E7E-2147337808. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Product: MANSCAPED HANDYMAN (The product is described after these links. To the best of my knowledge, this product is available at the following retailers (at least): [REDACTED]). Incident: MANSCAPED sells The Handyman Compact Face Shaver. It is described as "Portable Mens Travel Facial Hair Groomer, USB-C Rechargeable Electric Razor, Waterproof, Cordless, Dual-Action SkinSafe Long-Hair Leveler & Foil Blades". The product comprises a USB-C charging cable, USB-C male charger wall outlet adapter, and the handheld product itself comprising of a grippable rechargeable battery sub-unit (and a cutter-and-foil-shaver sub-unit). The product had disintegrated and melted on the battery unit where the USB-C cable connects to the charging circuitry. Charging port had reached sufficient heat that the plastic had melted onto the cable. At this temperature, we do not know if the lithium ion batteries may have been at risk themselves of catching fire. A previous purchase of this product had sporadicall
