The bottom has a hidden wire design which is ultimately the design flaw that led to explosion.). Incident: Product is a coffee bean grinder from Hamilton Beach. Purchased in 2021, but only used recently in the last 6 months. There is a hidden cord wrap mechanism that seemingly has a design flaw, as you wrap/unwrap the cord for us, the wire insulation deteriorated and exposed copper wire inside. I was only made aware of this after plugging in the machine, having it explode in my hand, and seeing the brunt and exposed wire inside. I had contacted Hamilton Beach support and they refused to provide a refund, only to replace the item with the same, or something of similar value. After experiencing this, and seeing the many online reviews of the same unsafe incident, I am not interested in their products, and they do not seem to be taking it seriously. This could have resulted in electrocution, a kitchen fire if kept plugged in over night, or other unforeseen incidents. I have photos of the charred exposed wire, and record of their customer support response if needed.
