Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20240810-CA2DE-2147337326. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Samsung NX58M6630S. Source model text: Model #NX58M6630SG/AA. Incident: Our greyhound dog turned on Samsung gas stove flame on two different occasions by pressing the stove knob by putting her paws up on the stove. First time was when we brought her home for the first time on January 6, 2024. She turned on the flame again a week later. We then bought universal size stove knob guards that do not fit the Samsung knobs. I looked for information on how to make the stove childproof/pet proof but found nothing helpful. We ended up taking off the stove knobs and fencing off our kitchen so that the dog could not turn on the stove again. I understand that Samsung is recalling its electric stoves because they are not pet or child safe. The gas stoves have the same problem and should also be recalled.
