Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20240815-26BAB-2147337201. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Model name - SM-S918U. Source model text: ME21M706BAS. Incident: I woke up in the middle of the night to the smell of smoke. I ran downstairs and saw a smokey haze in the kitchen. There was smoke coming from the microwave. The exterior was hot to the touch. The glass turntable was so hot it was untouchable. I unplugged the microwave immediately - felt the cabinets which were hot but not smoking. I later called Samsung to see if there was a recall, their only comment was "it's not under warranty". Didn't ask for details or seem to care there was a potential fire hazard.
