Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20241002-13E37-2147336196. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Ninja Ninja Auto IQ 1000W Blender. Source model text: BC151BK. Incident: The charging port and the USB-C charging cord (original cord provided) of my Ninja Blast Blender model BC151BK burned/melted while charging my blender. I had used the provided USB-C, plugged into a block, it can take 2 hours to charge so I plugged it in as I left for work. When I returned there was black charred pieces on the counter, flame burns at the USB-C port and the charging cord itself was melted down approximately 1/4 inch. Thankfully it stopped there, and it was on a solid counter and the various mail, recipe cards were about 5 inches away. There is no doubt my house would have burned down.
