Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20241227-4FDA5-2147334332. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Toshiba ML2-TC10SAIT-SS. Source model text: ML 2-EC105A. Incident: Toshiba Model #ML2-EC 105A, combination air fryer, oven and microwave, starts on its own without any buttons being pushed. Cannot be stopped by pressing CANCEL. Only by opening the door will it stop On the final attempt to use the device it started smoking. Unplugged and removed from area. Toshiba acknowledged others have brought this to their attention. I can only imagine what damage or loss of life could have occurred if this happened when no one was home or in the area. Huge safety issue!
