Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250214-DBCDA-2147333176. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: LG LG ELECTRIC RANGE. Incident: I have an LG Range that is under an advisory, but the mitigation protocols are insufficient. Their warning notes to "keep children away from the range and check it before bed." This is not acceptable. For me two incidents occured with this electric range. Once I had something on top of the range (food box) and the knob unknowingly turned on resulting in a fire. On another occasion I had a [REDACTED] dish on the stove top and again the range unknowingly turned on and caused the [REDACTED] dish to explode sending glass shooting everywhere. This range needs to be recalled. Current Safety recall is SAFETY RECALL (ID: [REDACTED]) but again it's not a recall, it's an advisory that tells me to keep kids away from the range.
