Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250313-08A9F-2147332591. Severity: Injury, Seen by Medical Professional. Matched catalog product: Fitbit Charge 5. Incident: I suffered a burn injury from a FitBit 5. I was wearing the device as a fitness recording monitor. The burn was at least a 2nd degree, if not more. I reported the injury to FitBit in August 2024. They were not helpful at all. Nor, did they inform me that they were aware that their devices were causing injury, or relay to me that they were under investigation by the CPSC which led to a multi-million dollar fine.
