Product: HOMCOM 22" Electric Fireplace Heater B077P1J1T8 (Electric fireplace heater with realistic LED flames and logs.). Incident: Dear Consumer Product Safety Commission, I am reaching out to report a serious safety issue with an electronic fireplace I recently purchased through Amazon. The units power cord became extremely hot to the touch, posing a significant fire hazard and a risk of severe burns to my family and pets. Given the danger, I immediately discarded the fireplace to prevent any potential harm. I contacted the seller to request a refund, but they refused to provide one. After escalating the issue to Amazon, they removed the listing for the fireplace. However, I am unsure whether this removal is temporary or permanent, and I am concerned that other consumers may still be at risk. Additionally, Amazon is refusing to issue me a refund because I no longer have the defective unit, despite my actions being necessary for safety reasons. I believe this product poses a serious hazard and should be investigated to prevent potential injuries or property damage.
