Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250423-072DD-2147331757. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Anker Anker Soundcore Bluetooth Speaker (Anker Soundcore Bluetooth Speaker, black, approximately 6" x 3" x 3"). Incident: We purchased an Anker Bluetooth speaker from Amazon on May 22, 2023 as shown on the attached photo. My husband later received notification of the recall, but when he checked the serial number it was not included. On Thursday April 17, 2025 at 3:45 am, we woke up to a carbon monoxide detector alarm. The speaker was sitting on a utility shelf at the opposite end of the house and had caught on fire. Thankfully the carbon monoxide detector was right next to the speaker as the fire started and spread very quickly. We were very fortunate that the only damage we experienced was the loss of the shelf, the speaker, and the carbon monoxide detector. We also had toxic smoke residue covering the lower floor and staining the wall which we have since cleaned and painted. We don't have the serial number of the unit but have reported the incident to Anker as well.
