Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250428-F0FEC-2147331675. Severity: Injury, Seen by Medical Professional. Matched catalog product: Peloton TR02. Source model text: Tread TR02. Incident: I purchased a Peloton Tread in 2022. I have 201 miles on the treadmill and it's basically in brand new condition, however the treadmill is defective in which the belt within a year started to tear. What makes this dangerous is that Peloton has a defective tread belt because it tears. The tread belt is "self-lubricating" and because of the tears in the belt, the self lubricating fluid is leaking to the surface of the tread, causing it to be unusable and dangerously slippery. You will slip and fall and hurt yourself. I have been injured on this as I have slipped and fell and hurt myself on the tread. I researched online and found thousands of users who are having the same problem with the Peloton tread and a defective product. Peloton is not standing but their product and they are a horrible company to deal with when they have a defective product. I have filed multiple complaints with them as I want them to replace my defective treadmill or give me my money back, their tech no called and no showed to my house and I can't even get them to come out and look at it.
