Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250505-44487-2147331516. Severity: No Incident, No Injury. Product: Ninja C39500 (Ninja NeverStick Premium Hard-Anodized 10- Pots & Pans Set - C39500). Incident: While cooking chicken on a medium heat setting, the screw cover that secures the handle to my Ninja brand frying pan suddenly exploded. The metal piece detached with force and shot across the kitchen, accompanied by a very loud popping noise. Thankfully, I had just turned away from the stove and was not hit by the flying part, but the outcome could have been serious if someone had been in the line of fire. There was nothing unusual about the cooking conditionsno high heat or visible warping. The pan was on a standard stovetop, and I had been using it as instructed. The temperature was not excessive, and the food was cooking normally until the sudden failure occurred. This incident raises serious concerns about the structural integrity and safety of the pan, particularly the handle components. Im reporting this in case others have experienced similar issues or are at risk of injury.
