Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250508-C4C9B-2147331463. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Product: DeerRun A1 Pro Move+ 6% Incline Foldable (Silver and black Walking pad/Treadmill). Incident: I am writing to formally report a serious and dangerous incident involving the Deer Run A1 Pro treadmill that I purchased, which arrived at my home on May 1, 2025. opened the box on May 4, 2025, and set the treadmill up in my bedroom. On May 5, 2025, 1 used it for the first time-walking for 15 minutes in the morning and again for another 15 minutes at 4:30 PM. That evening, after turning the treadmill off around 9:50 PM, my entire home suddenly lost power. Immediately afterward, the power came back on, and I heard a loud popping noise from the treadmill. A large spark followed, then smoke, and suddenly the treadmill caught on fire. The flames quickly intensified, prompting us to call 911. In an effort to prevent the fire from spreading and endangering lives, we poured flour on the flames and my son dragged the treadmill out of the house while it was still on fire. Thankfully, no one was injured, but the situation was extremely dangerous and could have resulted in severe damage or loss of life.
