Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250512-884B5-2147331366. Severity: No Incident, No Injury. Product: Samsung NX60BG8315SSAA (6.0 cu. ft. Smart Slide-in Gas Range with Air Fry & Convection in Fingerprint Resistant Stainless Steel). Incident: The exterior glass on the oven door of our Samsung range (model NX60BG8315SSAA, purchased from Samsung Direct) is completely broken after regular use, just one day and one year after the item was delivered. There is broken glass shards everywhere. Thankfully, no one has been hurt so far from the broken glass or damaged door. Since there are small pieces of tempered glass which continue to fall, I am extremely concerned for my family's safety and inclined not to repair or repurchase these products. The oven glass breaking seems to be a known issue from other posts, particularly one year or so after purchase (when the warranty is void). They also seem to have a larger issue with exploding glass for other appliances (e.g., washer and dryer). Some community posts- [REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED] The posts appear to be "solved" but no resolution is offered.
