Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250515-DF397-2147331288. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Electrolux EFME627UIW. Source model text: Model # EFME627UIW0/EFME627UIW0. Incident: Electrolux dryer caught on fire. I was drying a load of towels and noticed the dryer had turned off. Thinking the towels were done, I opened the front door and smoke came billowing out. I immediately shut the door, ran to my electrical panel in the garage and cut the power to the laundry room. My son and I pulled the dryer away from the wall and unplugged the unit. I also disconnected the dryer vent hose from the unit. The back of the unit was hot to the touch. After it cooled down, we removed the top of the dryer and saw the fire originated from the circuit board at the top of the dryer. Cover is black from fire. No one was injured.
