Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250521-3767A-2147331160. Severity: No Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Kidde Smoke Alarm model P4010DCS-W and p4010DCSCO-W. Source model text: Model 30CUD10-V. Incident: In January 2025, I replaced all six smoke and carbon monoxide detectors in my home with Kidde combination alarms, model 30CUD10-V. It is now late May and three out of the original six have failed, and now one of the replacements that Kidde sent has failed. The units will chirp three times, flash a red light, and announce "smoke sensor error". Following the directions in the user manual, and per the verbal instructions from their customer support agent, the alarms were cleaned and reset, but will return to error after just a few minutes or sometimes weeks later. After reading reviews on their website, many other people are experiencing the same problem. I'm concerned for the safety of my family and any other consumers that have purchased these combination alarms.
