Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250522-A858C-2147331129. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Speed queen ADE3SRGS177TWO1 (Speed Queen electric dryer). Incident: I own a Speed Queen electric dryer (model ADE3SRGS177TW01) that fails to shut off at the end of a cycle. This issue has now happened twice, including after a prior warranty repair. The dryer continues running indefinitely unless manually shut off, even after the timer reaches zero. This poses a serious fire hazard due to overheating and unattended electrical operation. The issue first occurred within warranty and was "repaired" by Speed Queen. However, the same issue has now returned, raising concerns about a defective design or recurring mechanical fault. Speed Queen refuses to replace the unit and will only offer additional repairs, despite the known safety risks. I am submitting this report due to the repeated failure and safety concerns. This product may pose a risk to other households if the issue is systemic.
