Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250529-4113F-2147331017. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Hover-1 H1-JNY2 (Hover-1 Journey 2.0 Electric Scooter (Model: H1-JNY2)). Incident: Hover-1 Journey 2.0 Electric Scooter (Model: H1-JNY2) Brand name: Hover-1 Model Number: H1-JNY2 Manufacturer: DGL Group, Ltd. (typically listed as Hover-1s parent company) Retailer: Amazon Purchase date: 8/18/2024 While the Hover-1 Journey 2.0 scooter was charging indoors using the original manufacturer-supplied charger (Model CH-2415), the connector began to melt and subsequently caught fire. This caused burn damage to the charger itself, our daughter's scooter, and the garage floor epoxy. Thankfully, no one was injured, but the incident posed a serious fire hazard and could have escalated dangerously had we not intervened. Photos clearly show burn damage to the scooter charging port, melted plastic on the charger, and a scorched epoxy garage surface. No physical injuries, but property damage and potential fire risk.
