Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250726-F773E-2147329206. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Electrolux Laundry Tower Electric Stacked Laundry Center MODEL: ELTE7600AWO (White Electrolux Laundry Tower Height: 76.25", Width 27", Depth 32" Dryer:120V/240V-60HZ-24AMPS, 120/208-60HZ-22 AMPS Washer: 120 V-60HZ-12 AMPS). Incident: My Electrolux washer dryer tower drying sensor was replaced by an Electrolux Appliance Technician. After 90 minutes, he left, said it was fixed, then I had my movers push the tower back into the closet and they hooked it up. ( Electrolux technical repair made it clear that they do not move the tower, that it was my responsibility to have it in an open area with access to the back. I paid $300 for my movers. Btw, the repairman was 90 minutes late, therefore I had to pay for my men while they waited .) This was Tuesday July 22nd. Yesterday, July 24th, I put a load into the dryer on Delicate. After 23 minutes, I noticed the dryer had stopped, but still showed remaining time. I opened the dryer, reached in to get lightweight underwear, active wear, bras, etc. and literally BURNED MY HANDS because the clothes were scalding HOT! I dropped them on the ground, waited a few minutes, then quickly grabbed them into a large towel to place on the bed. My adult son couldn't even touch them because they were burning hot. After 20 minutes, we folded them. So then I put the next delicate load in, thinking I would be extra careful, putting it on ECO DRY and low temperature, however the dryer never started. It was broken. I was up all night thinking what if it had caught fire? Then read that this Electrolux has caught fire many times before. I air dried my sheets overnight and am so afraid to even use the washer!
