Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250806-EB681-2147328860. Severity: Injury, First Aid Received by Non-Medical Professional. Product: CFMOTO U10 highland U10 highland (2025 CFMOTO U10 highland UTV). Incident: While using the 2025 CFMOTO U10 1000 Highland for normal recreational purposes, I accessed the rear cargo bed shortly after driving.I smelled something burning, Upon lifting the rear bedliner,The Exhaust was so hot and almost on fire. I unintentionally made contact with plastic components that had melted due to excessive heat from the exhaust system located underneath. The heat generated in that area is high enough to cause nearby plastic components to deform and melt, exposing users to a serious burn hazard. I sustained a burn to my hand as a direct result of this defect. There appear to be no adequate heat shields or thermal barriers in place to prevent this issue, nor are there any visible warnings alerting users of high-temperature components under the bed. This is a design flaw that poses a serious safety risk to consumers and should be addressed immediately. Especially that consumers travel with extra fuel and propane tanks for the BBQ that could of exploded if the heat and fire wouldn't of been identified Safety Concerns: Burn hazard to users accessing the rear bed Potential fire hazard due to melting plastic and proximity to exhaust heat And possible explosion if carrying flammable. I.e extra fuel, bbq w/ propane tank. Absence of protective shielding or manufacturer warnings Possible recurrence if design is not corrected across all 2025 UForce Highland models Action Requested: Immediate investigation into the product design A recall or mandatory service fix to correct the exhaust heat issue Consideration of replacement or refund for affected vehicle Publication of a
