Incident: It is [REDACTED] am and I had just arrived at work. No one has used the stove since yesterday afternoon. My 33 year old son called frantic, said he smelled something burning, and came upstairs to find the rubber stove top protector on fire, the burner on the stove was red hot but all the knobs were in the off position. MY HOME ALMOST JUST BURNED DOWN! Thank God he was home. We have unplugged the stove and will not be using it.
