Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250809-FF7F1-2147328804. Severity: Injury, First Aid Received by Non-Medical Professional. Product: Eufy RoboVac 11S EYFY ROBOVAC 11S, Model T2108 (Eufy 11S Model T2108 Purchased about 2 years ago). Incident: The glass top of our Eufy 11S robot vacuum shattered glass all over our kitchen. This vacuum has a tempered glass top. It squeezed itself under some furniture hard enough to just crack the glass a little, but nobody noticed it was cracked. One of my chores is to empty it and clean it out weekly. When I set it down upside down on the countertop the glass exploded in a shower of small very sharp fragments all over the floor, where our dog was sitting. I was in bare feet surrounded by glass. I could not move without stepping on glass. By the time we were done cleaning up I had cuts on my hands. When I called Eufy I asked for a NON-glass top. They don't have such a part for this vacuum. They sent me a replacement glass top instead. They need something simple to make this less dangerous. How about a simple plastic stick on shield keeps the shattered glass on the vacuum when it breaks? They don't have such a thing. I am trying to make one out of wide clear plastic tape. I should not have to do this. Who puts tempered glass on a vacuum? PUTTING A GLASS TOP ON A ROBOT VACUUM IS JUST IDIOTIC!!!!
