Incident narrative
SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250821-FC791-2147328472. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Samsung S95D 77" OLED TV (Samsung S95D 77" OLED TV). Incident: I am filing a complaint regarding the Samsung S95D 77 OLED TV due to a serious safety issue. No one was injured, but the TV tripped our home circuit breaker while no one was home, which poses a serious fire hazard and electrical safety risk. That is why I am submitting this report eventhough there was no physical injury. I have had two units fail. The first failed within one week of installation. The second tripped my homes circuit breaker while no one was home, creating a serious fire hazard. I have since discovered that multiple other consumers have reported the same issue involving this model and its Slim One Connect Box, particularly with the 77 version. Reports include repeated circuit breaker trips and unit failure shortly after installation. I have made repeated efforts to work with Samsung to resolve this. However, they continue to refuse a refund unless I authorize repair, which I have declined due to the electrical hazard and the pattern of failure. I am submitting this report so the CPSC is aware of the safety concern, the potential fire risk, and the broader scope of this issue affecting others. Update 9/10/2025: Since filing the original report, the following has occurred: 1. Samsung has refused to issue a refund, stating that only an in-home repair is available. 2. I have declined repair due to a potential fire hazard. The TV tripped our circuit breaker while no one was home. 3. I submitted a formal complaint with the [REDACTED] on August 21, 2025. Samsung has not resolved the issue as of September 8. 4. Multiple other consumers have reported similar issues wi
