Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20250923-D61E4-2147327601. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Samsung NSG6DG8700SRAA (Samsung Oven, Model NSG6DG8700SRAA, Serial 0LN17DAX700280D,). Incident: While using my Samsung ovens broil function to toast bread a completely standard use the oven suddenly caught fire while under normal operation. The unit was less than 1 year old and under full warranty. The fire produced smoke throughout my home, triggered fire alarms, and required the use of a fire extinguisher and a response from the fire department. I have a 2-year-old and a 3-month-old child in the home. The fire was NOT due to misuse or any flammable material it was a spontaneous internal fire. Samsung delayed service for weeks, and when a technician confirmed the oven was unrepairable, Samsung later denied the warranty by falsely blaming the fire on food. This product is a serious safety risk, especially for families with children. I am requesting CPSC investigate this product line for fire hazards and hold Samsung accountable for safety violations.
