Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20251110-8AE87-5716615. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: Samurai Mini Smoke Alarm (Battery powered, mini smoke alarm). Incident: (Around 4:00am) The smoke detector gave off a false alarm and was blinking red. The consumer turned it off and there was no fire in her home. Approximately 15 minutes later, the detector went off again. She still did not see a fire in her home, but went outside as a precaution, for a few minutes before going back inside. She examined the detector and removed the battery to stop it from alarming. However, the battery was leaking clear colored fluid inside the detector when she removed it. There were no injuries. The damage was limited to the detectors battery. Winter-2025: The consumer received the CPSC recall notice (#25-095) and contacted the company. However, she told the rep. that she did not have a computer and could not take pictures to send them. The rep. told her that was the only way to register and advised her to try to use someone elses computer. The consumer wasnt comfortable putting her information into someone elses computer and never registered for the recall. 11/0/2025: The consumer called HSN this morning and she said that the representative (name unknown) told her that at least she knew the smoke detector worked. NOTE: The consumer purchased several of these smoke alarms from [REDACTED] and HSN during the years of 2020, 2022 & 2024. Therefore, her detector could have been purchased from either retailer during those years. Some were smoke detectors only and the others were combination, smoke, and CO detectors. She did not have a model/serial number at the time she reported the incident. There is no writing on product; but on box: SM1 In consideration of
