Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20251121-5AA60-2147326207. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Samsung NE63T8511SS. Incident: I received an email from Samsung about a recall on my Samsung range. I followed their instructions and ordered the knob locks and installed them on my range. I went out to the kitchen where i found a pizza box on the range on fire The knob locks were installed but the knob was still able to be accidently activated. I contacted Samsung through text and email. I sent them a video of the knob being able to be turned easily even with the lock installed. I have not used the range at all today as evident by the takeout pizza box being on the range. They told me that I would have to pay to have someone come out to fix it even though this issue is connected to an open recall.
