Incident narrative
SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20251202-91192-2147325958. Severity: No Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Frigidaire FFIF 3054 T89. Source model text: FFEF3054TSM. Incident: The outter glass on our Fridigdaire oven door exploded for no reason. We had used it an hour prior at 400 degrees then 350 degrees. It had been off for about an hour and thankfully nobody was in the room when we heard it explode. There were no issues or existing cracks. The oven came with our house we bought 4 years ago and the oven looks to be manufactured in 2020. Thankfully nobody got hurt, but I'm afraid to fix it and continue to use it since this seems like a common issue. I tried to see if there is a recall or what it would cost for Frigidaire to fix it and they are charging me normal prices and seem completely unbothered this happened. Eventually they offered 20% off, but they still have not been able to schedule a time to fix it, and I have to go through separate company to schedule my own appointment. It just all seems so suspicious. Ovens are expensive, until we can afford a new one we will just fix what we have. I am astonished there isn't a recall on these considering the amount of complaints I have seen for this very issue.
