Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20251219-6A937-2147325376. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Matched catalog product: Toro Toro Rake and Vac model 51585. Source model text: 51619. Incident: I was using our Toro Ultra Electric Blower, model 51619 today, when I noted a major decrease in blower speed (I had NOT moved the speed control) and felt a small burn on my right arm. Just after that, I noted smoke coming from the male electrical connector at the end of the power cord tailpiece. I immediately stopped using the blower and came into the house to contact Toro via phone. The Toro agent with whom I spoke directed me to a nearby repair center, which I called and was told that there would be an almost $40.00 charge just to initially examine the unit.
