Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260102-4A8BF-2147324974. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Matched catalog product: Frigidaire GCFG3060BFD. Source model text: GCFG3060BF. Incident: I bought a range from Frigidaire. I heard a noise that indicated a problem with the oven's start up. I called Frigidaire and they sent a repairman. He diagnosed the fault, told me he needed to order a part and not to use the oven till it was repaired. He returned 11 days later and replaced the part. The repairman told me he had been instructed by Frigidaire to replace the burner element on ranges with a specific serial number. The burner element was defective. Frigidaire knew this and sold the ranges anyway. The noise was a "Whoomp" sound. This was caused by an over-accumulation of gas in the oven prior to lighting the flame. This was an explosive hazard.
