Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260119-213E1-2147324401. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Product: INIU Model B1-B43 (INIU for Magsafe Portable Charger, Small 10000mAh 20W PD Magnetic Power Bank, USB C in&Out Wireless Battery Pack Phone Charger Sold by: SimpleLife LLC on Amazon. Black. Model B1-B43 SN 000024). Incident: My INIU power bank caught fire while charging this morning. Model B1-B43, SN000024, purchased on Feb. 22, 2025, on Amazon. It was charging on top of my standup desk at home. I was in the bathroom briefly and I heard my smoke detector go off. I walked out, and there was the power bank on fire on my desk. I put the fire out using the water stored in my [REDACTED] filter, but it stayed on fire. I knocked it to the ground because the wooden desk would soon go up in flames, and grabbed the bottom half of my [REDACTED] and through that water on the charger, which was now on my floating floorboards. It still was slightly on fire, so I scooped it up with a dustpan and brush onto the snow outside my sliding doors, right next to where the charger was on the floor. My standing desk is damaged, along with part of my floating floorboards, along with my [REDACTED] filters which snapped in the scuffle to put out the fire. Two of my fingers got burned.
