SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260127-3500E-2147324139. Severity: No Incident, No Injury. Product: Google Pixel Watch 1 Google Pixel Watch (Product Name: Google Pixel Watch (1st Generation) - WiFi/[REDACTED] Model Manufacturer: Google LLC Device Type: Wearable Smartwatch with integrated rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery. Case Size: 41 mm). Incident: Product: Google Pixel Watch 1 Incident Date: January 3, 2026 1. Incident Overview: On January 3, 2026, my Google Pixel Watch 1 experienced a thermal runaway event. The battery swelled catastrophically, detaching the screen and actively leaking a chemical fluid that later crystallized into toxic dust. 2. Timeline of Negligence (24 Days): Jan 11, 2026: I explicitly notified Google Support (Case ID [REDACTED]) that the battery had fractured the casing and was actively discharging fluid. Jan 14, 2026: I updated Google that the leak had worsened and that, for safety, I was forced to seal the device in a plastic containment bag inside a bucket to prevent exposure to fumes. Jan 14 Present: Despite my clear, documented warnings that the device was leaking and modified with a plastic barrier (which interferes with fire-safe packaging), Google Support has ignored the safety risks. 3. Repeated Dangerous Instructions: Since notifying Google on Jan 14 that the device was sealed in a plastic bag, Google Support has instructed me to ship the device in this unsafe configuration on 3 separate occasions. Most recently, on Jan 26, Executive Support stated it was "safe to return," completely ignoring that the plastic bag voids the safety rating of the shipping kit. 4. Safety & Regulatory Violations: Voiding of DOT-SP 20432: The "[REDACTED]" fire-suppression box Google provided requires the battery to be in direct contact with the liner. The '[REDACTED]' fire-suppression box Google provided requires the battery to be in direct contact with the liner. I cannot remove the device from my containmen
