Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260322-109E4-2147322412. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: aovopro ES80 (AOVOPRO ES80 Electric Scooter 350W 10.5 Ah Long Range High Speed Foldable Electric Scooter). Incident: I am reporting a dangerous AOVOPRO ES80 electric scooter. During normal riding on a flat and relatively smooth street, the scooter bounced or jumped abnormally from the front wheel / motor area. The defect appears to be in the wheel connection where the motor is located. Because this scooter can reach about 19 mph, a failure in that area could cause a serious crash, severe injury, or death. I also noticed chemical odors coming from the scooter during charging. Since the scooter contains lithium batteries, this raises a serious fire hazard concern, particularly if the battery or charging system does not comply with applicable U.S. safety standards. The scooter also has [REDACTED]/app problems and other hardware issues, but the main reason for this report is the safety risk created by the front wheel / motor connection defect and the chemical smell during charging. No injury has happened yet, but the product appears unsafe.
