Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260406-3460A-2147320895. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: DANBAR GLOBAL Wireless Karaoke Speaker (Pink LED wireless Karaoke, I put all information on first page, battery powered). Incident: On Saturday I purchased a karaoke machine from TJ Max for my daughter for her Easter basket. Today, I went to put it on the charger. And maybe within 1 minute, it exploded. I heard a loud bang/pop and smoke filled my entire dining room. It was so loud and so much smoke, it sounded and looked like a smoke grenade had been thrown. Pieces from inside the machine and ash were throughout my dinning room. There also was a small fire inside the machine, thankfully by the time I got the fire extinguisher the fire was gone. Neither I nor my daughter was near it thankfully, as she was in living room and I was in kitchen. Im just very worried about others who have purchased this, because it couldve been a different story if we were walking by it or my daughter had been playing with it at that time. DANBAR GLOBAL Product name: Wireless Karaoke speaker Product Model: K12 Output power: 5W Input Signal: 42DB Battery: High Performance High Capacity Lithium battery Charging Voltage: DC5V Frequency range: 90Hz-18KHz Power mode: DC charging and built in battery
