Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260418-91922-2147320428. Severity: Injury, Seen by Medical Professional. Product: macbook pro m2 Macbook pro 16" (Apple MacBook Pro 16"). Incident: On March 22, 2026, I was electrocuted by my MacBook Pro while using it normally. The electrical current caused a deep vibration to the bone in my hand and pain radiating through my arm and elbow. Prior to this incident, I filed numerous complaints with Apple about this same computer. My Apple Support history shows months of reports including: overheating, fan issues, loss of mouse control, system instability, and external hard drives being destroyed by the computer. I told Apple at least three different hard drives had been "zapped and destroyed" by this device. Medical findings included: Diagnosis of "Exposure to other electric current, initial encounter" (W86.8XXA) Diagnosis of nerve damage (Radiculopathy, site unspecified) *Blood pressure spiked to 157/103 (I have never had high blood pressure before)* Prescription for gabapentin (nerve pain medication) Referral to a neurologist within 7 days Three days after the shock, I experienced severe chest pain during a workout and was advised to seek emergency care. I now have a referral to a cardiologist as well. Weeks later, my hand still hurts. I have cold sensations from my hand up to my elbow. I have to avoid touching countertops or any edge with that part of my hand because of the pain. Apple has demanded that I send them my computer for "investigation" with no guarantee of compensation. If I send the computer, I lose the only physical evidence of the electrical fau
