Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260427-8DF49-2147320043. Severity: Incident, No Injury. Product: GE GGF600AVSS (To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally report a serious safety incident involving a GE Gas/ Propane oven (Model GGF600AVSS) purchased on January 15, 2026. On the evening of April 27, 2026 at 5:23pm, while the oven was NOT in use, the outer glass door panel suddenly and violently exploded outward into our living space. The glass continued popping and fragmenting for over 20 minutes after the initial failure. I have video of it. I am scared to clean it up or touch it. This incident created a significant safety hazard and could have resulted in severe injury or death had anyone been in closer proximity. There was no misuse, impact, or abnormal handling of the appliance. This appears to be a spontaneous tempered glass failure. I can't imagine if any of my Yorkies had been in the kitchen.).
