Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260518-05B0D-2147319078. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Product: PHILIPS 75PQL7456 F7 (Philips 75 Class QLED 4K UHD Smart TV (Model: 75PQL7456/F7)). Incident: I purchased a brand new Philips 75 inch QLED 4K Smart TV from Walmart. When I unboxed it and touched the back of the TV, I received a strong electric shock that caused pain radiating up my arm to my shoulder, lasting approximately 10 minutes. The TV was never connected to any power source at the time of the shock. I used an electrical tester on the TV which confirmed it was emitting electricity even while unplugged. The shock and electrical reading persisted over an extended period of time, indicating a serious manufacturing defect. I have video evidence of the electrical tester detecting current on the unplugged TV. I contacted Walmart customer service who acknowledged the defect but only offered a 10% partial refund ($39.80) on a $430 product despite the safety hazard and physical injury caused.
