Incident narrative

SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260519-A60FB-2147319034. Severity: Injury, No First Aid or Medical Attention Received. Product: Google google pixel (Google Pixel 10 smartphone). Incident: I discovered my Google Pixel smartphone severely damaged. The device was found charred, burned, and broken into multiple pieces, with the battery fully separated and exposed. There was smoke present. When I attempted to pick up the device, it was still hot and burned my finger on contact. The product is a Google Pixel smartphone approximately 6 months old, purchased late November 2025. The device was not in use at the time - it was stored in its normal resting location. I sustained a minor burn injury to my finger when I attempted to handle the device while it was still hot. The damage is consistent with a lithium battery thermal event - the battery internal layers are visibly carbonized and separated, and the charring pattern originates from inside the device outward.
