Incident narrative
SaferProducts.gov consumer incident report 20260519-E51B1-2147319056. Severity: No Incident, No Injury. Product: Frigidaire FFEF3016VS (Frigidaire Electric Range with Self-Clean in Stainless Steel 30 inch, 5.3 cu. ft. Model#FFEF3016VS). Incident: Product: Frigidaire Electric Range (Model#FFEF3016VS) Purchased: September 2022 On 5/17/26 between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., the outer glass on my Frigidaire electric oven spontaneously shattered/exploded. The oven was not in use at the time, nor immediately before. There was no one in the house at the time, no pets or other logical reasoning for the glass to shatter. The outer glass exploded in a diagonal fashion across the middle of the door frame, leaving glass attached to the top and bottom portion of the door. All the shattered glass fell onto the floor in front of the oven and extended in a radius of approximately 6 feet. Thankfully no one, including my children, were inside when the explosion occurred and no injuries resulted because of the explosion. Upon research, this is not the first time an issue with the door glass of a Frigidaire oven exploding has been reported. That is why I am also submitting this report.
